Milsted Langdon is a large independent firm of Accountants in the South West of the UK. The firm provides a range of services to its clients. From compliance to value added services such as strategic tax planning, and profit improvement planning. The Business Intelligence department forms part of the value added offering from Milsted Langdon.
The Business Intelligence team consists of professional qualified accountants who draw upon practical industry based experience, information technology skills and detailed knowledge of popular software packages to deliver bespoke reporting systems to allow business owners to identify and manage KPIs.
Requirement:
ML Business Intelligence deal with a number of client accounting software systems like Sage 50, Pegasus, Access, SAP, and Quickbooks. They need to have access to a reliable platform to collaborate with clients and develop their reporting solutions. This is difficult with traditional on premise solutions as the requirements for each system often over lap and cause conflicts. Providing remote access via a for clients to the firms internal systems to see reporting systems is also difficult as it creates potential security issues.
Solution:
Hosted Accountants has provided a Virtual Hosted Desktop system to allow Milsted Langdons Business Intelligence team to create reporting systems based on Sage 50, Access Accounts, Quickbooks and Pegasus Opera. Using the latest Office Tools the ML team can work from any location on a dedicated application specific profile. This means they can create systems without any conflict with other applications. The biggest benefit of the Hosted Desktop is that clients can also have a login to the system and see prototypes before the client system is installed. When the project is finished the profile can be archived for future use.
