Dan has vast experience in supplying services and consultancy to UK practices of all sizes. Most recently he has been a key member of the UK and EMEA Thomson Reuters salesforce selling Digita and other accountancy software and services to practices across the South of England. After five years it become clear that small and medium size practices wanted more than desktop compliance software – they wanted to access this from anywhere, in real-time. Hosted Accountants was formed to help practices reap the benefits of going “cloud based” and to provide a Desktop as a Service (DaaS) to operate these traditional accountancy software packages remotely and securely on a virtual hosted desktop. Dan now provides approachable and independent advice to all size practices looking at hosting options and virtualisation strategies.

Ian Cooper - Director
Ian began his career in software before the internet was around. Initially for a training company, then specifically supplying software to accountants. First he gained a thorough understanding of Sage Line 50, 200 and Sage Payroll. Then developed a specialist interest in CRM systems particularly ACT. Following on from this Ian started a successful 7 year career at Digita, part of Thomson Reuters. Starting as an account manager, then moving into a Senior Consultants role to assist firms on their use of accountancy software. Ian undertakes the sales process with the larger firms in a very consultative manner. A thorough understanding of the requirements needs to be gained before any recommendations are made.
Extensive experience has been gained in accountancy software for Final Accounts, Tax compliance, Practice Management, Document Management, Sage 50, and multiple CRM systems. Ian is also familiar with Iris, CCH, Relate, BTC and Sage accountancy software.
From feedback Ian was receiving from many of the accountancy firms he was visiting it was becoming apparent that many are see the benefits of cloud computing for accountancy firms. As there wasn't a dedicated hosting provider of accountancy software it was the perfect opportunity to leave Thomson Reuters - Digita and start Hosted Accountants, specialists in hosted desktops for accountants.

David Watson - Technical Director
David began his IT career at CompuAdd, a US based Hardware manufacturer. After spending a number of years developing the pre-sales technical support team David moved into a pure consultancy role with a larger firm of accountants and business advisers based in Bath and Bristol. David then joined a major independent firm of accountants in the South West of the UK as IT Partner.
Over the next five years David managed the development of a team of consultants who implemented accountancy software, CRM, and ERP solutions for a range of clients in the SME sector. After building the business David then took a year’s sabbatical and completed an MBA with the University of Liverpool specialising in ecommerce and change management.
